On Wednesday I will be attending a Service Learning Fair to determine my placement for Human Behavior in the Social Environment. I believe service learning is extremely important in my growth as a professional, as well as an individual. Wherever I choose to work will broaden my experiences as a pre-service teacher because I will network with people in the work force (employees of agencies such as the Milagro House, Ronald McDonald House, etc.). In addition, the experience this semester will support the information I am learning in my Elizabethtown College courses.
Although the service learning is a requirement, I anticipate that it will benefit me in my growth as a person. The invaluable lessons learned from working with people of all walks of life will carry in to facets of my social, emotional and spiritual self. Not only will I gain from working with others, but I hope to leave my mark as well. One of the most important measures of a meaningful life is having some sort of purpose. I am confident that whatever agency I choose on Wednesday will reap academic and personal benefits.
Scotland, sort of London, and the end.
